Clear Trac™ AG is the name given to a compound called Arabinogalactan (AG), commonly found in the Western Larch tree and other plant sources. This material is a polysaccharide (starch) composed of arabinose and galactose. An excellent source of dietary fiber, Arabinogalactans have been shown to increase short-chain fatty acids (SCFA). SCFA are extremely important for the health of the colon by enhancing the growth of healthy bacteria and protecting the epithelial cells from damage and mutation*. AG has also shown strong immunostimulating properties and may effect natural killer (NK) cell activity*.

Cascara Sagrada and Senna are two of the most common laxatives available. Their effectiveness is mainly due to the high anthraquinone content. Anthraquinones have been used to help soften and form stools. Peppermint, Ginger Root and Fennel Root aid in the absorption of intestinal gas, calm the stomach, and aid digestion*. Ginger Root especially, has shown to activate peristalsis (involuntary muscle contraction of the stomach) and intestinal muscle tone.

Licorice Root counterbalances the discomforting effects that may occur due to the cleansing of the colon (use of laxatives). It also has shown to protect and soothe distressed mucous membranes of the intestinal tract*.
