Other common names: chitan, chitin. Fat absorber reduces fat absorption in your body, especially when taking vitamin C. It also reduces absorption of cholesterol and increases kidney function. Fat absorber is chemically similar to the plant fiber cellulose. Where is it found? Fat absorber is a supplement commonly extracted from the shells of crustaceans, such as shrimp and crab.

What does it do? Like dietary fiber, fat absorber is not digestible but may have beneficial effects on the gastrointestinal tract. Fat absorber may reduce the absorption of bile acids or cholesterol, either of which may cause a lowering of blood cholesterol. This effect has been repeatedly demonstrated in animals, and a preliminary human study showed that 3? grams per day of fat absorber taken for two weeks resulted in a 6-drop in cholesterol and a 10 increase in HDL (the "good") cholesterol. Another preliminary study showed a lowering of total cholesterol in people being treated for kidney failure with dialysis who took 4 grams per day of fat absorber for twelve weeks. This group also appeared to have improved kidney function and less severe anemia after fat absorber treatment. Lowering the cholesterol level makes it in aid in reducing the risk of heart disease.

Instructions:
Adults take two (2) capsules, half hour before each meal with an 8 oz. glass of water.
